On July 3, 2019, Dr. Jarvas Gábor, a researcher at the Glycoconjugate Research Institute of the University of Pannonia (Hungary), along with Mr. Zhang Zhigang, General Manager of Euro-Conti Tech Group, visited Suining Central Hospital at the invitation of President Chen Yongjun. The delegation toured several key hospital facilities, including the Hedong Campus, the Gene Sequencing Lab and Biobank, the Health Big Data Center, and Suining’s Key Laboratory for Metabolic Diseases.

Following the visit, Dr. Jarvas Gábor presented a rapid circulating tumor cell (CTC) detection system based on immunomagnetic bead adsorption to specialists from the Oncology, Laboratory, Basic Science, and Gastroenterology departments. Compared to traditional CTC detection methods, this new system can deliver results within minutes and at a fraction of the cost—only a few percent of traditional methods—showcasing strong potential for future clinical application. Attendees engaged in detailed discussions regarding the system’s sensitivity, specificity, and scalability.

Dr. Gábor noted that Suining Central Hospital has already established solid foundations in basic research and possesses a vast patient database. He expressed strong confidence in the potential for fruitful collaboration between both institutions.

Later, the delegation also visited the hospital’s High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) Center. Mr. Zhang Zhigang gained detailed insights into the treatment mechanisms, equipment usage and maintenance, and the range of diseases treated with HIFU. He emphasized that the purpose of scientific exchange is not only to introduce advanced foreign technologies but also to promote high-quality Chinese medical equipment globally. He expressed a strong desire to see domestically produced, minimally invasive medical technologies introduced to international markets—providing better treatment options for patients worldwide.
